November 2021 Update

Dear Friends, Partners, and Co-workers in Christ Jesus,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Grace to you and peace from our father and the Lord Jesus Christ, “Philippians 1:2”.

On behalf of the entire team of Christ Gospel Fellowship Church of Rwanda and in particular the staff of ABC Kids Program, we are so thankful to the Lord for His Love and endless Mercy to us. Glory is to His Holy Name, now and forever.

As it has been always, we have so many reasons to be thankful to God in our everyday life as the Word of God says, “Rejoice in the Lord always, I say it again; Rejoice” Philippians 4:4.
Even today we have the reason to rejoice; everyday of our lives is a God given gift to celebrate His love and much better if we celebrate according to His will and fulfilling our purpose of creation. The word of God says” For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God created in advance for us to do”  Ephesians 2:10. Thank God for each and every one who takes any step to serve in one way or the other, your labor in the Lord will be rewarded.
ABC Kids Program:

Serving God through supporting the young generation in pursuing their education is building a family, Church and the Nation as well. Though interrupted by COVID-19 like every other sector worldwide, where there were some delays in the completion of the academic year together with difficulties in learning conditions but all in all God has been faithful.

We thank God for the progress so far, the new academic year 2021/2022 started on 11th October, 2021. At this time all kids are able to go to their respective schools at the same time unlike the previous period. We thank God so much for this great achievement and also appreciate our government for all the efforts put together to control the spread of COVID-19.
National Exams 2020/2021 Perfomance:
The Primary 6 and Senior 3 results were out and we had five kids in P.6;  Jadine Iyamuduhaye, Lyza Ineza and Nelly Ineza Teta who passed with very good marks in Division 1, Kirezi Happy Valence in Division 2 and  Daniel Mbarushimana in Division 3.

We also had three kids in S.3; Ange Gatabazi, Divine Muhoracyeye who passed in Division 1 and Chantal Uwumuremyi in Division 2.

Finally the S.6 results were out and we had five kids who graduated; Esther Mutoni, Christal Ngabo Icyeza, and Seraphine Ibyikora who graduated with Distinctions and Obed Mwiseneza and  Albert Nahimana who graduated with passes.

We are so grateful for your continued support in all aspects, may the Lord bless you for being there to serve in your time.
Reaching Out to the ABC Kids’ Families:
During the holidays, we had some food items distributed to families. As we are still fighting the spread of Covid-19, we called the kids to collect food from their churches than going to homes. Below are just a few pictures of the event.

Back to School Preparations;

The kids in Tabagwe, which is in the Eastern part of Rwanda, using the locally handwashing station on their arrival at church coming the school and hygienic materials . Today hand washing stations are found in various places that accommodate a big number of people. The hand washing is  serving as one of the measures of fighting the spread of Covid- 19. It has become a good habit of washing hands wherever you go and it is serving the purpose.

Then after washing hands, keeping social distance, kids receive the school requirements and hygienic products as well.

June 2021 Update

Dear Friends, partners, and co-workers in Christ Jesus,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Grace to you and peace from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, “Philippians 1:2”.

Glory is to God our Father who knows every beginning and the end of our life’s journey!

This time we have chosen to give the progressive updates on some kids who are benefiting from ABC Kids program. This serves to encourage whoever supports every single child in this program, highlighting the impact that your support is making in the lives of this generation.

I also want to encourage you in a Bible verse from the book of Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

Therefore brethren, take courage for Gods rewards are there for you and they are much more that what we invest in His kingdom.

Bosco Ukwishaka was enrolled in the program in 2018 when he was in Senior 2.   Bosco is a young boy who lives with his aged grandmother. He lost his mother at an early age and he never got a chance to know his father. He does not know any other relative on both sides, maternal or paternal. This boy never knew that he is ever loved by anybody! He missed parental love and care all his life from his young age because even his grandmother who stays with  him is old and very desperate. Bosco was almost becoming a street boy if it was not for the love of God that brought his grandmother to Church and thus making it the channel that God used to bless Bosco.
Today Bosco has a church family and his life is being transformed physically, mentally and spiritually. He can smile, speak out if he has any problem or need and he can now look straight in someone’s face which was not the case before because of being desperate. At least he has someone to tell when he has a problem and he knows he is loved and listened to; he goes to school happy with all the school requirements! He is in Senior 4 and believes that his future is better than his past. His grandmother also has hope that her grandson has a family to belong too.

Picture
Bosco likes soccer so much that when it’s school holiday he enjoys with his small soccer team after helping his grandmother with the house work.

We bless Bosco’s sponsors and all of you who support the vulnerable children. You are sowing the seeds of Love in the Kingdom of God. He is faithful to reward whoever serves for the Glory of His name and He will reward you accordingly.

Jacqueline Niyitanga was enrolled in the sponsorship program at her early age in primary school. She has so much struggled to keep in school especially after completing her high level where her parents were not supportive to her at all, neither financially or emotionally! To them, Jacqueline was to search for a job and start supporting the family, whereas Jacqueline has always had a dream to study and transform her family from a poor and illiterate background to a self-reliant and literate family. She believes with the support she is getting which has pushed her up to University where she is in her first year, she will achieve her long term desired dream.

Picture
This is Jacqueline when going to the University on her first day, she couldn’t believe herself. With the support from the ABC Kids program she was able to get all the requirements and was one of the happiest kids as she set off from church to the college in the Northern Province.
Picture
Jacqueline is always smiling and thankful. She is a very humble and promising young lady. Thank you so much for being so supportive to Jacqueline. May the Lord increase and bless you always. Today Jacqueline’s life is a living testimony; God can really get one from ashes to glory! She sees a bright future ahead and she is fully determined to get to her destination!  The day she will always remember is her first day at the college when she was given an accommodation upstairs, in a beautifully painted room with a tiled floor! It was too strange for her and she spent a sleepless night the very first day at the college because of too much excitement. She says this funny memory will always remind her where God has gotten her from!

A Word of Appreciation:
We appreciate all of you who serve God through this Ministry and pray for you, God bless you always.

May 2021 Update

Dear Friends, partners, and co-workers in Christ Jesus,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

"Grace to you and peace from our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:2

On behalf of the entire team of Christ Gospel Fellowship Church of Rwanda, we are so much privileged and thankful to God for His enduring mercy that has kept us all throughout this season. Glory be to Him now and forever.

We are so much thankful to God for all that He is doing in our lives and ministry at large. We see the hand of God working out miracles in different ways. Sometimes we take things for granted but these last days are giving us lessons every day. At least today everybody can tell that the free air we breathe in is not free as we think but there is an invisible high price provided in advance because we cannot pay it by ourselves! We cannot give it equivalent value and lacking it in just a few minutes means losing a life. God can teach or testify His greatness even in things that we see as minor or small.

ABOUT ABC KIDS:
We thank God for having kept our kids safe at school for over five months; that is from November to end of March. All of us knowing the social life of young children we could not believe that they would manage to keep social distance and put on face mask all the days (those were the most challenges in common when each kid asked about challenges they faced at school) and other COVID-19 preventive measures. We give much respect to their teachers for the great job done and much prayers even in the coming school term because the pandemic still exists but the grace of God overflows.

THE MINISTRY IMPACT:
We cannot tell it all but we want to appreciate every one that gives in to support the kids especially in their education as a key to the better tomorrow. We just want to encourage you in simple words that you are sowing great seeds in His kingdom that are life changing for sure.
Picture
If we can take an example of one kid by the names of Daniel Nsabiyera who was enrolled in the program when he had just joined high school.

This young boy comes from a very needy family. He is a 3rd born in a family of 5 kids; two boys and 3 girls. His elder brother and sister never completed Primary six. Though being born and raised in the family that could not support him, Daniel had a strong determination of studying up to University, get a good job and acquire what his parents and siblings were not able to acquire. Having been raised up in our Church right from Sunday school and now grown up and serving in the Worship Team, Daniel’s hope is always in God. He is a prayerful young man who believes God makes way where seems to be no way. And what God is doing in his life has built his faith more because what he prayed about from his young age is being achieved by the grace of God.

Picture
Today he is at University in 1st year at INES Ruhengeri in the Northern Province of Rwanda, taking the option of Economics Applied to Statistics. Daniel says to him this was a mere dream that would not come to pass but with God all things are possible. He does not always believe himself sitting in class at the college with all the school requirements and school fees paid! He testifies to all that he is a living testimony that; God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think…( Ephesians 3: 20-21)

Daniel is a very hardworking and responsible young boy. He is the one who mostly follows upon his parents always wants to know whatever they go through even when at school, especially his mother who has diabetes and is most of the times weak.
This is of the most recent when his mother was very sick and admitted in the hospital for four days. He had to come from school and see his mother in that critical condition. As you see him in the picture smiling a little bit, his mother’s health had improved and she gave her son a hug as he goes back to school.
Picture
Picture
Back at the College, Daniel tries to use his time and every opportunity given to him to the maximum. Unlike many youth, he does not take anything for granted but he is determined to reach his target.
After classes, he has enough time to do his assignments and then visits the school library to access more books and have group discussions.
Daniel is very thankful to God first of all that He had his prayers and gave him what he asked for. He always appreciates the Church for having helped him so much to grow in faith through the word of God taught daily which have become a good foundation and a strong pillar of his faith.
And so much thankful to ABC Program that is impacting the lives of many children and their families through the acts of love and compassion. Daniel appreciates his sponsor in particular who was led by God to support him even through the college. He says he sees a bright future because of you.
God bless you all for making a great impact in the lives of the young generation. You are impacting the Church, individual families and the Nation.

A Word of Appreciation:
We want take this opportunity to appreciate who ever serves the Lord through this Ministry in one way or the other.

Keep serving as the Word of God encourages us in “Galatians 6:9 NIV”

God bless you always,

April 2021 Update

Dear Friends, partners, and co-workers in Christ Jesus,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Grace to you and peace from our father and the Lord Jesus Christ, “Philippians 1:2”.

On behalf of the entire team of Christ Gospel Fellowship Church of Rwanda, we are so much privileged and thankful to God for His enduring mercy that has kept us all throughout this very challenging time when the whole world is facing the deadly pandemic of COVID-19 and its effects.

The word of God tells us as believers that in everything we should be thankful to God. (1Thessalonians 5:18) This is not because there is joy in every situation but because when we seek God we realize His working in every situation.

Here in Rwanda the 1st case of COVID -19 was identified on 14th March 2020. It was a shocking message to everyone who heard about it. I remember it was on Saturday and immediately the government announced quarantine throughout the country. All the public places including schools obviously were closed; leaving only very essential service providers to operate in small numbers and less hours where applicable. This must have been the first time such incidence occurred and hearing that it was almost worldwide caused a lot of fear and worry in the hearts of many people!

We thank God so much for our government that put into practice all possible measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as was done worldwide. Thank God for all the believers because even though the Churches were closed like other public gatherings, Christians never ceased to pray and this was time people prayed more than ever. I believe God heard prayers of all saints worldwide and He is in control over every situation.
Picture
As for the ABC Kids program that God has entrusted us with, we want to take this opportunity to appreciate you for your continued support even during this very difficult time. This was the time children stayed at home without going to school for a very long time. It is also the time most of the parents lost their jobs especially those that do not have permanent jobs that pay on a monthly basis. It was a challenge to most of the families even to provide food for the family. The government provided for people in such category but it was not enough so we had to provide food support to these families in higher quantity than we have been doing. To some of them it was a miracle because no one expected it the way it happened. This was one of the activities that repeated itself many times in the kids’ program together with medical support and providing hygienic products.

It may sound simple to some people but I want to assure you that it impacted families even more than food or items’ value. Giving a package of rice, some cooking oil, and some sugar to a jobless person in unexpected!  It was a gesture of extending the love of God that is never limited by the situations or hard times.  The families appreciated it so much.

We want to thank you so much for your continued commitment to serve the Lord through His people. These are some of the good works that you will be awarded for by our heavenly Father. Thank you for being so supportive even in difficult and challenging times. God bless you always.

See the gallery below for pictures that were taken at different occasions. They may not be all but just a few to highlight how the events were organized.

Obviously on food distribution day all the measures of preventing the spread of COVID-19 are followed; that is washing hands with clean water and soap, keeping social distance and make sure all kids have their face masks worn correctly.
Picture
Home visits not only allowed for delivery of food and other items but also provided time to pray and have talks with parents and kids. There are some kids who were almost giving up with school because they had spent too long at home, but through prayer and word of encouragement they made up their minds and went back to school; this was mostly with teenagers. We are thankful to God they are now doing well in school.

Apart from food support, there was close follow up on kids’ medication for those with special cases. We had about five kids among others with strong sight problems, two of them got eye glasses on their doctor’s prescription and three got treatment and close follow up is being done. Just want to highlight that though we pay medical insurance ( Mutuelle de santé) this does not cover all the medical bills especially buying medicine and medical glasses.

A word of appreciation:
We want take this opportunity to appreciate every hand and soul that seeks to serve God in one way or the other and just remind you that your labor in the LORD is not in vain. Maybe you sacrifice much to serve but we are always encouraged by the word of God in “Psalms 126:5 “

God bless you always,
