A letter from Anaclet Twahirwa to his sponsor. December 2017
"I am very much happy to communicate to you. I thank our Creator for His love and thank you for your kind heart full of God's love. Life has been a challenge to me because after losing my sponsor, I couldn't continue school because it was not possible. I tried to go and look for jobs hoping to get money and pay for my school fees. I am very much happy for you accepting to pay my school fees. I am very appreciative. I am glad because all along I wanted to join a vocational school and take mechanic studies and this has happened because of you. It is a good school and in our province Musanze. I thank you very much and God bless you."

Daniel Nsabiyera also gives a simple but strong testimony to his youth; to him he says his faith is really strengthened. There is nothing as encouraging as praying and seeing God answer the prayers. He really prayed asking God for a sponsor and will continue praying thanking God for his faithfulness and also the sponsor that God gave him. He is an encourager to the kids who do not have sponsors.

Mediatrice Uwamahoro is one of the children that benefits from the sponsorship program. She is an orphan girl that benefited from the program starting in primary school when ABC Kids first started in 2006. Unfortunately when she completed Senior 3 she had an unplanned pregnancy and stopped going to school. To her this was the end of her education and she never hoped that one day she would be in school again. It was last year end of 2016 when her sponsor met her again, felt compassion for her and accepted to support her and her cute daughter Christella who is now in a preschool that has opened at the church. She brings the daughter to school very early, leaves her there to go to her school and again comes for her after her classes in the afternoon.
Mediatrice is so happy, has gained the hope she had lost and she says she does not know how to express her thankful heart to God and her loving sponsor too. She keeps you in her prayers and believes God will never ignore your heart full of compassion. “Keep serving, knowing your labor is not in vain”, she says politely.

Testimony of Alfred Byiringiro
My name is Alfred Byiringiro and I am 21 years old. I was born with HIV/AIDS during the Tutsi Genocide of 1994 that also claimed the life of my father, who was killed with Machettes. During that time, I was left with my mother who was also infected with an HIV/AIDS Viurs, which she acquired in a sexual violence and rape during the genocide. Our life deteriorated after that, we were left alone without any house to live in, my mother had no job, and there she was batteling and suffering from HIV/AIDS. As a result I could not go to school, and I could not get other basics in life such as food, medication and clothing.
Finally, I met volunteers from Christ Gospel Fellowship and I was enrolled in the ABC program in 2005. From that time, I stopped worring about school fees and material, or for what to eat, up to now. I am in high school, and through this program, my dreams, hopes of being an engineer in building and construction have been restored. I have not lacked clothing, and my life has been forever changed through the Church. With the health condition I have had for many years, I have to go to the doctor many times, but I thank God that through the ABC Program, my medical needs have been taken care of, and my worries for these huge expenses have been taken away. I do not know where I would be without this work, and my future would be dark and my hope would be no more. I thank God that I found Him thorugh this work, and that my life has been eternally changed because of the Church and the ABC work.

Testimony of Chantal Uwase
I am called Chantal Uwase. I was born in 1998 in a family of three step-children raised by our mother, and I am the youngest of all. We went through a lot with my mother. My mother lost three children before she had me, and later she found out it was due to her being HIV positve. When my father found out that my mother had HIV, he mistreated her badly, with beatings and verbally abused her. He starved us nearly to death until my mother decided to leave him and went to live on her own with my step-sister and me. We lived each day not knowing what to eat.
We thank God for the work of Abana B’umwami (ABC) ministry. I beleive it came into exisitance because of me. Through the ABC program, I was provided with the entire school requirements like exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematic sets, calculators, school bags, school uniforms, and transport for going to School. I was very happy to be in school and lacking nothing that the school required from me. Currently I am in Grade 9.
Abana B’umwami and the Church had built for us a house because we had nowhere to live. They installed electricity in our house and today we are in our small house with electricity.
Abana B’umwami helped me with getting clothes. I mean new clothes because I never knew that I would ever put on a new dress, or shoes, bed, sheets, and if I would ever sleep on a mattress. I now feel normal, I feel I look like other children from rich families because of the work of ABC. From the time I was enrolled in the ABC program, I have never ceased to give thanks to God for such a great priviledge and blessing I have had. I have lacked nothing, all my worries were taken away, the humiliation my sister and I had suffered in school for not payng school fees or carrying books, was taken away. We were taking herbs as medication when we were sick, because we could not afford to go to the hospital. My hope was resotred, my lost childhood dreams came back again, and above all, I found the Lord, a good Church and good pastors to teach and lead us. May God continue to bless the ABC program.

Testimony of Yvette Ingabire.
I am Yvette Ingabire, a third born in the family of three children. I am the only girl. I thank Pastor Francis and the ABC Kids program. When I was received at the Church, I was living a very miserable life, but all of a sudden, I saw God changing my life. I will always be grateful to God for this opportunity of belonging to a family of God’s children.
My mother died of HIV/AIDS when I was 7 months old. I was born with the AIDS virus. I have had to fight this my whole life. My father was imprisoned for 25 years. We were left as total orphans, had no home to live in, no food to eat, and at the same time, fighting AIDS as a baby. Then the staff of Abana B’Umwami children (ABC) came into our lives and became a great answer to our situation. The church and the staff of ABC program became a very strong support to us. The Church became my family, the pastors became my lovely parents, took us to school, provided us with all school requirements, provided us with food, paid for our accommodation, and provided us with all we needed in the house. We got beds, and mattresses, and above all we were loved very much. My hope was restored, my dreams were resurrected, and to this very day, my hope and security is in the Church and in this sponsrsohip program.
We are now closer to God by the love we have seen through the ABC program and the Church. We have never lacked anything again. We have some people who really love us and care deeply about our needs, and we now live a life of gratitude and giving thanks to God. My life has been changed here.

Testimony of Jean Paul Gakuru
My name is Jean Paul Gakuru. I am 20 years old. I am the third born in a family of seven, icluding my twin brother, also sponsored by the ABC program. Growing up in a big family it was always hard to afford paying for school, acquiring scholarstic materials, and other needs in a home, such as food, clothing and other basic needs.
We thank God for Christ Gospel Fellowship church through the ABC program as they started sponsoring us (me and my twin brother). They paid school fees and gave us other different needs like school uniforms, clothes, books and pens. I had a desire to do techinical studies but had no way or I was unable to realize them due to lack of school fees to study well and finish. But now thankfully, I have studied and graduated in Automobile teachincal studies, and in a driving school. Now I hold a driving license and can drive a car and fix many problems on cars.
Christ Gospel Fellowship Church helped me grow spiritually through attending church services and youth camps, and there I also met new friends and shared our hearts and life stories.
All my needs were met for my educational, emotional, and spiritual needs. All these things helped me to be built up, discovered my other gifts and different talents. May God bless my sponsor, and this work.
