Christmas 2017 Celebrations
We had two Christmas parties; On 19th December, we were at Ruhengeri where all kids had gathered at Ryandinzi Christ Gospel Church. We shared a word of God by Jacqueline, from the book of Ephesians 6:1-2 where kids were reminded to respect their parents in our Lord Jesus Christ. And on 20th December we had another one at Christ Gospel Church Kimironko and it was all successful. Children gave their thanks giving testimonies, we heard a word of God from Pastor Etienne and then we shared lunch and then all kids received their gifts.

Thank you for sharing your generosity and love with the ABC Kids in Rwanda. Christmas 2017 was another festive and wonderful time for these kids.
The sponsored kids received a set of new clothes while all of the kids who are waiting for sponsors received a new backpack for the upcoming school year. All of the kids enjoyed a huge feast and a Christmas party to celebrate the birth of Christ and enjoy a good time together. The staff in Rwanda hosted two separate events. One in the Northern Province (Ryandinzi) and one in the Central Province (Kimironko). Please see the photos below. |

Dear Friends, partners and co-workers in Christ,
Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Appreciations We always thank God for you, our words cannot express our heartfelt appreciation but we believe your labor in the Lord is not in vain. This is our prayer for you On the behalf of the Great Harvest Missions- Sponsorship Program beneficiaries, we thank God that the holidays have been successful. God has kept the kids and their families safe. The academic year 2016 began on 7th February. As it has always been at this end, the month of February has been very busy for parents planning for the kids to go back to school. |
A week before the beginning of the school program, kids gathered at Church for prayers and thanks giving and dedicating the beginning academic year to the Lord.
Together with the staff, the kids also prayed for the sponsors and prayed for their friends who have not yet received help to go back to school. The beginning of the year is always difficult that even the children in their homes and communities know its heaviness that whenever you ask for a prayer request that one can’t miss out. It’s so painful to hear a very young child raising such a prayer request, however on the other side we thank God for it because we are sharing the Word of God we teach them and also believe God answers the prayers of the young ones too. |
As it’s always been with the program, also we provided for the children their school requirements so that they go to school well-prepared. These included exercise books, pens, mathematical sets and calculators. Also tooth paste, soap and body oil for their hygienic care.

Dear friends, partners and well-wishers, Greetings to you in the precious name of Jesus, We want to thank God that the children have finished the year with success and celebrating what God has done through your love and generosity. God has enabled us to have a celebration party remembering the unspeakable gift He has given us, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. The children and those present were reminded that, since God has given us the best, His only son, there is nothing else He will withhold from those who love and trust Him. The children, staff and volunteers had a good time all together of among 200 who had gathered during this celebration. Both the sponsored and non-sponsored were present, all happy thanking God of what He did in all previous years. It was both a good time of sharing spiritual food and physical food. Pastor Christian also shared a message from Nehemiah 4:4 where he was encouraging children who lost their sponsors to stand firm and don’t allow discouragements that come their way. He added that children must continue their faith in God, who only knows them, and deeply cares for them. In His timing, He will open doors for them to receive some help. We had an opportunity also to celebrate the graduation of 26 children who graduated from high school last year, among them 14 of them were present on their graduation party. The rest were not able to be here because they were either at their new places of work, as some of them got work opportunities, and a few of them have been admitted in universities, as so they had classes to take and end of semester tests. We want to thank you all for your prayers, and financial generosity. You allowed God to use you to make this happen, it was not easy, but God did it through your willingness to give and share from the little that you have.
Please be praying for this program, many children who lost sponsors, now hopeless not knowing what to do, and where to turn for help, their cries are heard from every corner, their external and internal tears are visible, and their prayers are hung and rise to the Lord. We love you and appreciate you. By His Grace Christian Gisanura. |
Some children received clothing as their Christmas presents, while all the children that graduated gave their testimonies of how the sponsorship helped them to finish this phase of their education, without which they would not have completed and how through the program, their livelihood and families were transformed. Iranzi Paul was so firm on this, that if it wasn’t the help of his sponsor, he couldn’t have reached this far, and now he has completed high school and now has hope for the future.
