Program Coordinator
Jacqueline Uwamariya

Jacqueline started attending Christ Gospel Fellowship (CGF) Church in 2003. Although she was a Catholic, she had been longing for something more for several months when Pastor Francis and Mary Nyirahaba came knocking on her door. They were going door to door in the nearby neighborhood evangelizing. Through their sharing the Word of God, Jacqueline accepted Christ and began attending CGF that week. She loved that CGF focuses on teaching the word more than any other thing. After two years, she was baptized at the church and through the encouragement of other women leaders in the church, including Pastor Francis’ wife Dorothy, Jacqueline began helping in the children’s ministry. Jacqueline has always liked kids and it became her favorite ministry to serve in.
Jacqueline is also involved in the women’s ministry with small group families and she became the secretary to help organize and run the ministry. She began working with the ABC Kids program as the accountant in 2006 through 2013, until she went to work for a local non-government organization. She was hired as the ABC Kids Program Coordinator in February, 2016. As Program Coordinator, Jacqueline organizes the activities of the program, prepares the budgets and financial reports, visits the kids at their homes and schools, and facilitates the Saturday meetings, sharing the Word of God with the kids to help them grow spiritually.
When asked why ABC Kids is important, she said, "Being a program under a church is more important because although non-Christian organizations help with physical needs, ABC Kids helps the kids spiritually which is more important. Churches are where needy people come most. They feel more accepted at a church. It is where people come to get hope and encouragement. My favorite part about ABC Kids is being with the kids and sharing the Word of God with them. When I see the kids coming, it makes me happy because I get to give them their supplies and tell them God loves them." Jacqueline has been married to Foustin Vuningoma for 25 years, and together they have four children.

Child Development Worker
Josephine Ingabire

Josephine started attending Christ Gospel Fellowship in 2003, when she was 12 years old. She has been involved in the choir and worship teams and sometimes teaches Sunday school. Josephine came on staff as a full-time Child Development Worker (CDW) for ABC Kids at the beginning of 2016. She also is attending Kigali Institute of Management University, studying Finance.
As a Child Development Worker, Josephine visits the ABC Kids at school and at home, collects and records their progress reports, and translates letters between the kids and sponsors. She is also responsible for ensuring the school fees are paid and that the children receive hygiene products twice a month and food as needed. Josephine especially enjoys the Saturday meetings with the ABC Kids, which occur the first and third Saturday of every month. Her favorite part is being able to pray with the kids and share with them.
When asked why ABC Kids is important, she said, “It helps many kids who are poor and cannot easily get clothes, school fees, medical insurance and hygiene products. But through this program they receive all of this. The program is very important to the community and to the church. I am praying it grows so all the poor kids get helped.”

Accounting Assistant
Mary Nyirahaba

Mary has been attending Christ Gospel Fellowship Church since its beginning in 2001. She has many roles in the church including leader of the women’s ministry, part of the women’s choir “The Blessed Ones”, deacon, and full-time staff as an Accounting Assistant. Mary also participates in visiting the sick, doing evangelism, teaching the ABC Kids, and training the new staff for ABC Kids. Mary has been married to Joseph Ndayambaje since 1985 and they have six children, ranging in age from 16 to 31.
When asked why ABC Kids is important, Mary said, “Children really need help. If not for ABC Kids, they would not attend school or would struggle to attend school. Most of the kids are orphans or only have one parent and are very poor. Through this program they get soap, Vaseline, and toothpaste, which when you go to visit them at home, you can find many of these kids never have these basic hygiene products. Giving a bar of soap, to them means they did something so big that they would receive such a gift.” It is difficult to get soap especially in some of the more rural areas. She said the parents or guardians know how hard it is to get school fees, but the kids don’t always understand. Rwanda is becoming more expensive making it more difficult for the poor to survive. Mary finished with, “We teach the Word of God to these kids and that’s what we want for the children.”
